The South African High Commissioner was amongst women who were honoured in recognition of their work in Canada. The Women Who Work award ceremony, hosted by HE Sosthene Ngokila of the Embassy of Gabon celebrated the achievements and lives of inspiring women who through their work had made a contribution to the Canadian community and abroad.
In her acceptance speech, HC Dlamini-Mntambo pointed out that she “cannot receive this award without recognising giants in our anti-apartheid struggle like Mama Albertina Sisulu and Mama Winnie Mandela and the sterling role of the South African team at the Mission.
