Determination/Confirmation of Citizenship Requirements

  • BI-529 (Do not to write N/A or draw lines through the form if the question does not apply, leave blank space). All forms to be completed in BLACK ink.
  • Certified copies of your birth certificate, certified copy of identity document, if you were registered in South Africa
  • Proof of birth of the South African parent (e.g. Birth certificate, certified copy of identity document, certified copy of marriage certificate or certified copy of RSA passport)
  • Proof of legal residence status abroad (copy of a foreign citizenship certificate)
  • Email the documents to the South African Consulate General. (Address: 110 Sheppard Avenue East, Suite 600, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 6Y8)
