President Ramaphosa has concluded a two-days working visit to the Ukraine and the Russian Federation where African leaders proposed a path for peace to the 16 month long conflict between the two countries.

This will be the fifth deployment by a Working on Fire team to Canada.

The amendment was adopted without opposition in the National Assembly.

The principal focus of the mission is to find a peaceful resolution to the devastating conflict in the Ukraine with its cost to human lives and impact on the African continent.

Throughout, we have been firm on this point: South Africa has not been, and will not be, drawn into a contest between global powers.
