On 20 June 2019, the South African High Commission in Ottawa, Canada hosted a Freedom Day event under the theme “Celebrating 25 Years of Democracy”.

Africa Day 2019 was hosted by the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Canada. The event was held under the theme “Africa and Canada: towards a win-win partnership.”

The International Public Diplomacy Council and the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law co-hosted the 2nd Canada’s Ambassador of the Year & Public Diplomacy Awards on 12 March 2019.

The South African High Commission has enjoyed a beautiful working relationship with the Institute for African studies (IAS) at Carleton University.
