The High Commission of the Republic of South Africa, headed by the High Commissioner, assists with maintaining and enhancing South Africa’s long-standing relationship with Canada.
The Chancery (located at 15 Sussex Drive) and the Official Residence of the High Commissioner (at 5 Rideau Gate) are neighboured by Rideau Gate, the Residence of the Governor General, and by 24 Sussex, the Residence of the Prime Minister of Canada.
The High Commission is accredited to Greater Ottawa area, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Nunavut. Clients in need of services residing in these above mentioned areas as well as the immediate area surrounding Ottawa can receive Consular Services here.
Clients residing in the remaining provinces are required to contact the South African Consulate-General in Toronto.
The High Commission is engaged in the promotion of tourism and investment between South Africa and Canada and provides immigration, civic and consular services.
